Ambassador Governor Candidate Spotlight: Education
All good things must come to an end. Welcome to the final week of Broad + Liberty’s Candidate Spotlight Series!
Each week during the election season we reach out to candidates all across the country for public office, both Democrats and Republicans; incumbents and challengers. We asked you to press one question per week about the state. Those who wanted to answer shared their answers on our website. (Please see a special presentation from the editors about malevolent candidates).
The twelfth and final installment of our training series focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of our public accounting discipline. Our candidates for governor and US senator have already been considered. Let’s see what they have to say about our Lt. Praetor candidates.
This week’s question: What is the greatest strength and the greatest weakness of our discipline, and what will you do when it is chosen for this weakness?
Austin Davis (D)
I know how important education is in creating opportunities for our children. I am a proud product of the McKeesport Public School District and my parents worked so hard that my sister worked hard and I became a first generation college graduate.
Josh and I will make improving our education system a priority in Harrisburg and ensure that all children have access to a quality education. We will fully fund our schools, put parents on the Board of Education, end trust in standardized testing, put a mental health counselor in every school, and invest in vocational, technology, and computer training.
