Camden point guard Cian Medley commits to Saint Louis

Camden High School point guard Cian Medley is headed to the Atlantic 10 Conference.

The 6-foot, 155-pound Class of 2023 floor general committed to Saint Louis on Saturday, choosing them over Robert Morris, Florida Gulf Coast and Illinois-Chicago.

“I picked them because of the winning, competitive, family culture the program is built around,” he told NJ Advance Media.

“I’m going to bring whatever [skillset] Coach [Travis] Ford needs me to bring.”

Last season, he averaged 10.2 points and 3.9 assists for a Camden team that won the Group 2 state championship and lost to Roselle Catholic in the last Tournament of Champions Final ever.

He averaged 7.5 points and 5.1 assists on the Nike EYBL circuit for the NJ Scholars, who played last month at the Nike Peach Jam.

“Cian is a throwback point guard and serves as the general of both his high school and AAU team, which are both two of the most talented teams in the country,” said Scholars coach Jason Harrigan. “He’s an extension of the coach on the floor and a model for student-athletes off the court. The Saint Louis staff is a perfect fit for him as they know how to utilize the point guard position. He embraces coaching and will continue to grow and produce in the A-10.”

Saint Louis went 23-12 last season, 12-6 in the A-10.

At Camden and with the Scholars, Medley played alongside 6-foot-3 DJ Wagner, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2023 who is the subject of a heated recruiting battle between Kentucky and Louisville, and 7-foot-2 big man Aaron Bradshaw, who is considering Kentucky, Louisville and the NBA G League, among others.
