Cleburne Chamber’s Food Truck Festival and Business Expo next week

Sept. 22—Supporting and promoting local business is Cleburne Chamber of Commerce’s No. 1 mission. That mission will be on full display Sept. 29 as the 24th annual Food Truck Festival and Business Expo fills the Cleburne Conference Center.

The free event, sponsored once again by Southwest Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, will be held from 2:30-7 p.m. The conference center, 1501 W. Henderson St., will be full inside and out, with the parking lot hosting food trucks and entertainment on stage.

“We held the event on a Thursday last year because Saturdays can be so busy with other activities,” Chamber President Tara Janszen said. “It was very successful so we decided to keep it the same this year. We hope that by having it on a weekday afternoon and evening, it will allow attendees to network during business hours, come by with the kids after school, socialize after work , and enjoy a delicious dinner — all while visiting with some of our great local businesses and organizations.”

The Business Expo offers a unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with over 60 local businesses and organizations all in one day and one place. The purpose of the event is to showcase what the Cleburne area has to offer and remind the community to “Shop-Eat-Spend-Enjoy LOCAL!” Exhibitors are encouraged to sell their products out of their booths so this can truly be a one-stop-shop for doing business locally.

Attendees will be able to purchase food from a variety of local food trucks on the parking lot located between the Conference Center and the Chamber of Commerce. Selections include barbecue, Mexican food, hot dogs, sandwiches, snow cones, and more.

Back by popular demand is the Keep it Local Jackpot, sponsored by P&P Plumbing. To play, attendees pay $10 to pick a card from the envelope wall full of gift cards to local businesses. Each player is guaranteed to win a card of at least a $10 value, but most cards are valued at double or more.

As always, the funds raised help support the ongoing efforts of the chamber to attract and support business in Cleburne and Johnson County.

For the kids, an outdoor Kids Zone, sponsored by Carmen’s Creative Learning Center, will feature an inflatable bounce house and other fun interactive activities.

With food, music, RV’s, cars, games, and great door prizes, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
