In the three matches played so far, the Indian team has impressed with its all-round performance. In the tournament’s opener, they made life difficult for the Australians but failed to win the game. Then, in the second and third games, they defeated Pakistan and Barbados by 9 wickets and 100 runs, respectively, to secure a place in the semi-finals.
In the all-important semifinal against nemesis England, who are without the services of regular skipper Heather Knight, India will need all the big players to step up to confirm India’s place in the historic gold medal match.
