Five LEGO references in Katy Perry’s 2022 holiday ad

The LEGO Group’s 2022 holiday campaign has kicked off with a new ad featuring Katy Perry, with several LEGO set references.

As with the LEGO Group’s seasonal ads for 2020 and 2021, there are some interesting Easter eggs for LEGO enthusiasts that can be seen in several minutes of video, all of which can be found in one scene.

Not including the models that make up the main vehicles in the video, here are a few LEGO set references we found in the 2022 holiday ad, with another notable reference being the police car, though it’s likely not based on any set in particular, but instead a reference to the ongoing LEGO CITY range. by:

5 – 40516 Everyone is awesome

40516 A display dedicated to Everyone Is Awesome can be found in the town square where Katy Perry awaits a giant model made by children. If the colorful design isn’t enough to mention it, monochrome minifigures are also featured, complete with a neon sign.

4 – 10298 Vespa 125

A light blue Vespa parked on the street outside a LEGO store, almost certainly refers to the 10298 Vespa 125 that was released earlier this year. Unfortunately, a motorcycle helmet, basket or flowers are not included with this Vespa like the original build.

3 – 10271 Fiat 500

Not to be confused with the blue 77942 Fiat 500, a shot of the town square features a yellow Fiat 500 in a corner of a yellow car, as evidenced by the distinctive fabric on the roof. This is not a reference to the limited blue build, but to the 10271 Fiat 500, which was also painted yellow.

2 – 40501 Wood Duck or 11021 90 Year Game

It’s hard to make out but next to a building in the background, the familiar shape of the LEGO Group’s wooden duck can be seen, perhaps serving as a reference to both the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary as well as 40501 The Wooden Duck, 11021 90 Years of Play, or any that include a version of the iconic duck. model.

1 – 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van

Another car is parked on the side of the road next to the Everybody is Awesome display in the town square, a Volkswagen T1 Camper Van, with a LEGO set recreating – 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van. Interestingly, the set was also mentioned in the 2021 Rebuild the World advertisement.
