Gerald P. (Gerry) Grassett, 72, died on June 21, 2022, surrounded by his family at his home in Franconia, New Hampshire. He was the husband of Gwyn (Barnes) Grassett to whom he was married for 36 years.

He was born on June 7, 1950, the son of the late George C. and Arline (Perham) Grassett. He grew up and lived in Amherst, New Hampshire, before retiring to Franconia. He was a graduate of Milford Area High School class of 1968 and New Hampshire Technical School with an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering.

He was a veteran with an honorable discharge from the New Hampshire Air National Guard 157th Engineering Unit, serving for 12 years. He was a heavy equipment trainer and supervisor of roads and grounds. He achieved the rank of master sargent.

Gerry worked for 38 years for Amphenol Corp., formerly Teradyne Connection Systems, in Nashua, New Hampshire, as a product engineer and an applications engineer. He was awarded an inventors patent in 1997. After retiring, he worked part time for Northeast Technical Sales as an engineer applications.

He enjoyed golf and took many golf vacations with friends. He was a long-time member of The Maplewood Golf Club. In the winter, he enjoyed skiing at Bretton Woods. He loved all forms of motor racing, from tractor pulling to NASCAR, and attending many races. He was an avid wood worker and a do-it-yourselfer. Many items of his craftsmanship are in the homes of family and friends. He was passionate about his lawn and yard, and could be seen frequently tending to it.

Besides his wife, he survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Graham C. and Julie Grassett of Amherst, New Hampshire; his grandson, Grady W. of Amherst; his brothers and spouses, Gary and Charlotte Grassett of Vero Beach, Florida and George and Gail Grassett of Brookline, New Hampshire. He is predeceased by his brother, Glenn Grassett.

There will be no services for Gerry’s wishes. To honor Gerry’s love of golf, memorial donations may be made to The Maplewood Golf Club (PO Box 341, Bethlehem, NH 03574) for a granite bench is his memory.
