Takaf, a member of the rap trio Migos, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas on Tuesday (November 1).
Rapper – full name Kirshnik Khari Ball – was 28 years old.
Police officers were called at 2:34 a.m. (7:34 a.m. GMT) to reports of a shooting outside 810 Billiards and Bowling Alley in downtown Houston, where a private party of 40 people was taking place.
Takeoff and his Migos bandmate Quavo were both in attendance. Quavo – real name Quavious Keyate Marshall – was unaffected by the controversy. A third member of Migos, Offset, has not been found.
After the dice game, an argument broke out and shots were fired, causing many people to flee the scene in panic.
The plane was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not release the victim’s name at the time, but described him as a black man in his 20s. Taoff’s deputies were the first to confirm his death, a short time later, according to a police affidavit.
