Indianapolis-based nonprofit Horizon House says it is on track to achieve record-level job placements this year through its RISE Program. The nonprofit says the program, which helps homeless Hoosiers find and secure employment, has already made 100 job placements this year.
In 2021, the nonprofit says 128 jobs were secured for neighbors at a median pay of $12 per hour.
Horizon House points to data from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development that indicates unemployment is on the rise in Indiana.
“RISE stands for, ‘Reaching for Independence and Self-Sufficiency Through Employment’,” said Horizon House Employment Coordinator Dawn Moore.
Moore says the program helps people through each step of the employment process, including application assistance, resume writing, mock interviewing, transportation assistance, and employment clothing.
Horizon House currently works with more than 75 employment partners, but Moore says the nonprofit is always looking for more employment partners, as well as volunteers for the RISE Lab.
