NORFOLK, Neb. — A special community conference was held in northeastern Nebraska on Saturday.

A Norfolk Latino Small Business Conference took place at the lifelong learning center at Northeast Community College.

Last year, the conference was held in Grand Island and Omaha with about 150 individuals attending. Two weeks ago, it was in Grand Island with 120 businesses attending, including vendors.

The idea of the conference is to share resources, provide networking opportunities, and learn best practices.

Juan Sandoval, who is the assistant center director, talked to NCN about how the conference went.

“This is the first time that we did a conference in Norfolk; we started the conference last year in Grand Island and Omaha and the whole idea was to provide resources for small businesses after COVID-19,” Sandoval said. “It has been great; we were planning about 75 people and we actually have about that number. We did the conference in Grand Sealdn two weeks ago and we had 120 attendees and then we did Omaha last weekend with 100 so the turnout here was great. .”

The conference was held from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm
