NEET Exam: #JUSTICEforNEETUG trends on Twitter as student demand grows to delay NEET Exam

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) undergraduate examination 2022 is slated to be held on July 17 this year. When the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) dates, aspirants of NEET 2022 raised their concerns and asked for more time to prepare for the exam. The students have been protesting against NTA’s decision by using social media platforms. Therefore, #PostponeNEETUG and #JUSTICEforNEETUG hashtags have been trending on twitter.

NEET UG is a medical entrance examination for undergraduate admission into various medical colleges across India.

Students’ Twitter posts display positivity and hope that they might be able to draw the attention of the NTA, which might give them some more days to prepare for the exam.

“Delay NEET-UG 2022 for a few days, please. It is a matter of our life, future, career and dreams. Do not let us lose our one year for just 40 days,” a student posted this on Twitter with #JUSTICEforNEETUG

“Delaying NEET-UG for a few days will not affect the ongoing session OR the new session as it is declared to start before Feb 2023. Droppers also need a fair chance,” another comment states.

NEET UG 2021 was held in September, so the students expected the same for this year. Those who dropped out of the NEET exam, got only ten months to prepare and many aspirates feel they have been shortchanged. Students do not want to lose a year because of a few days. Aspirants have also shown concern about the clashing dates of CUET UG 2002 and NEET UG 2022 as the NTA announced CUET UG 2022 will also be held on July 17. The aspirants must leave one exam to appear in the other one. Students are saying that this could affect their performance as many of them would appear in both exams.

The Wide Parents Association also wrote a letter to the Prime Minister about the growing chaos, trending hashtags, and students’ concerns. The letter stated that the NEET-UG state counselling had ended recently. Even in some states, board exams are still being conducted; this gives no time to students to prepare for the NEET entrance. They also mentioned that new college sessions will start from February 2023. Therefore, if the extension of a few days is given then that will not affect the sessions.

With all these updates trending on social media platforms, a notice claiming NEET 2022 is postponed and will be held on September 4 has gone viral. NTA has already clarified on Twitter that it is fake news and no changes have been made in exam dates. NTA is expected to release NEET UG admit cards soon.
