At the annual Media Fest 2022 conference, the Associated Collegiate Press, or ACP, named the Auburn Plainsman the 5th winningest student media in the country. To celebrate the 100-year history of ACP and their Pacemaker competition, they previously published a list of the top 100 winning student media organizations in July 2021.
“The Pacemaker truly represents the best of the best, and it’s fitting that we recognize this award’s rich tradition in student journalism as part of our centennial celebration,” said ACP Associate Director Gary Lundgren.
The Pacemaker 100 is a one-time snapshot of the top 100 publications recognized in the competition over its lifetime. Each Pacemaker finalist received five points and each Pacemaker received 10 points. The results were tabulated in June 2021. Ranked fifth among all student media, The Plainsman is the most titled daily newspaper in the country.
